EXPLORE LOWCOUNTRY LEARNING COTTAGE

FRIDAY FUN DAY
I believe children need play time, fun, socializing and physical activity to learn and to be happy healthy people. Fridays will be called “Friday Fun Days”, parents will pick up early, take your child to a park, go on a field trip together as a group or take them home to be taught a life skill (cooking, cleaning, change a tire etc.). The field trips are on our yearly calendar. If there is rain or bad weather, it will be cancelled. Friday’s school day lessons will consist of sciences, arts and learning through play.

PARENT INVOLVED FIELD TRIPS
We will be taking frequent parent involved field trips. Learning about agriculture, science, history, and much more. Your child will be taught about chickens and how to care for them. The students will also learn how to grow their own food and how to care for the plants. Also, the science behind it.

SCHOOL TOUR!
Schedule a tour to meet our staff and see our building!
Proverbs 22:6 - "Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it."

TEACHING STRATEGIES
Montessori/ Traditional, Visual/Auditory/Kinesthetic
With my own children I have encouraged many different learning styles. All children are different and therefore learn differently, I plan to encourage my teachers to teach by hitting every learning type. Auditory, Visual and Kinesthetic are the different types in which they will learn and understand the material I present to them. I encourage my teachers to identify how they learn and move forward with that information. My favorite method of teaching is Montessori, where school is molded to fit them, rather than students are molded to fit school. They will learn exactly how they were born to learn. The students will be learning through My Father’s World curriculum and ABeka, but it will not be limited to just that. My walk with Jesus is especially important to me, so I love that through this curriculum He will be incorporated daily as well. Videos will be played, lectures will be done, and projects will all be completed to help the students learn effectively and thoroughly. All teachers have three or more years of classroom experience and/or a bachelor's degree.
