Hello! I am Erika Vargas, I am the owner of Lowcountry Learning Cottage. I will have the privilege of overseeing your child’s education and care. Growing up I have always had a love for children, I always wanted children of my own. Now I have four kids and plan to homeschool for as long as they want. I enjoy creating a fun environment so that kids look forward to learning and they do not associate a negative feeling toward school and learning. As a mother myself I genuinely want the best for my children, and I feel that homeschooling and utilizing this cottage is the best for us. Homeschooling plays a big part in my life as I was homeschooled from kindergarten through 10th grade, I then went to public school from 11th-12th grade. The idea of a homeschool hybrid school came about when I wanted my kids to be with other kids while also homeschooling with me. I started this school cottage in my backyard in a renovated shed and it grew so fast that I just knew I was supposed to move to a bigger building. I want to share this learning environment with other people and give working parents a way to be more involved in their child’s education. I grew up in a Christian home and hope to show my kids and others how to have a relationship with Jesus, not just religious practices. I am so excited to share the world of homeschooling alongside cottage learning with everyone and hope you love it as much as I do. We will be offering a 3 year old class, as well as K4-3rd grade for this school year (2022-2023).
